Jenkintown Council Committee Workshop Livestream Jenkintown Matters, November 22, 2024November 21, 2024 Key takeaways from the November Jenkintown Borough Council Committee Workshop At the November Committee Workshop, Council revealed that it expected a $120,000 shortfall in the budget that they are using as an excuse to diminish our police presence. One again, Chief Scott fails to present a police report for public consideration. We understand that there has been a steady increase in calls for assistance and reports of possible criminal behavior. The fire department reports that the repairs to their 30-year-old pumper are expected to fall under the $45,000 cap allowed by Council. Council will authorize the purchase of handheld devices used to administer the new Parkmobile system, but did not cite the cost. This will require a right-to-know request. The agenda for this meeting had no attachments. Finally, we’re sorry to say that there are two small gaps in the audio towards the end due to the batteries in the remote microphones dying. We’ll be sure to fully charge before next use!
